Volunteer Registration Form

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with MDS.   We are blessed with an incredible number of volunteers who are helping to bring people home.

MDS responds to disasters, like flooding in Lafayette, Louisiana and West Virginia, hurricane damage in Florida, Puerto Rico and Texas, and wildfires in California. We continue to have urgent needs for volunteers in these locations, as some survivors have been without a home for 1-2 years.

We encourage you to sign up for one of these locations by selecting a week from the corresponding drop down menu, on the Registration Form below.

Please note that submitting a Registration Form does not guarantee a spot on a project. Do not book any travel until you have received an e-mail or written confirmation for your project assignment.

All those completing a Registration Form are added to a waiting list and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

Scheduling from the waiting list can begin as early as 3 months prior to the beginning of a Project Season;

  • Fall (October -December) – begins in August
  • Winter (January – March) – begins in October
  • Spring/Summer – (April to July/August) begins in February.

The likelihood of being placed on an MDS Project increases if you are willing to serve outside the months of January through March.

MDS respects your right to privacy and will not share your personal information with any third parties.

  • We are looking for a brief description of the construction skills that you or your group may be bringing (i.e. framing, masonry, plumbing, electrical, trim carpentry, painting, ERT team, chain saw operators, debris clean up, etc.). This is not a guarantee that we will utilize those skills, but will be taken into consideration as we work with you in the placement process. If you don't have much construction experience, no worries! Opportunities to learn new skills on an MDS site are often abundant and encouraged!
