Victoria County, Texas Weekly Report, Feb. 19-23,2018
March 3, 2018
This week we enjoyed seven volunteers from Ohio, one from Wisconsin, and four from Pennsylvania.
At Gloria’s, the sanding continues in the bathroom, bedrooms and washroom. Gloria helped the volunteer paint her interior doors. The siding is getting painted a nice green at Ben and Vicky’s, along with continuing with the drywall process inside. It was too wet outside several days to paint siding, so the volunteers painted several Sunday School rooms and put up ceiling tile at First Baptist Church next door. Walls are going up on the new build at Linda and Pat’s.
On Monday evening, Ben and Vicky prepared a delicious BBQ for us, with ribs, chicken, sausage, rice and beans, chips and homemade pico de gallo and guacamole. It was delicious!!
They are living in a small camper while we work on their house, but they wanted to express their appreciation for all that MDS is doing for them! We find, again and again, the people to be so generous here!
Then on Saturday, Linda and Pat, the sisters whom we are building the new house for, brought us a delicious lunch of BBQ, including chicken and brisket, beans, potato salad and dessert.
We will continue with progress on the new build, finish up our work at Gloria’s and continue painting the exterior and dry walling the interior at Ben and Vicky’s.
