Utuado, PR – Weekly Report – Jan 27-Feb 1, 2019
February 12, 2019
Four young men 20 years old and younger, as well as the father of two of them, from Weaverland Conference in Pennsylvania made a marvelous contribution to the project the week of January 26. The competence and work ethic of this group made a very positive impression on their new friends here in Vivi Arriba.
By the end of the week much of the ceramic tile floor had been installed in the church and the doors were installed. Cement plastering on the inside of Martha’s house was completed. Primer was applied to all the walls and about half of the ceilings were painted.
In the week ahead we expect to complete installation of the ceramic floor tile, install the remaining windows, and lay the ornamental blocks that are part of the exterior walkways at the church. We also expect to continue plastering the exterior of Martha’s house, installing bathroom plumbing and painting the interior.
A house has been rented in the town of Utuado for volunteer housing when the work shifts to roof repairs in the general community.
