Ukiah, CA – Weekly Report – Jan 20-24, 2020

January 31, 2020

This week brought ten volunteers from Baltimore, Maryland and five volunteers from Winkler, Manitoba.  Along with our eight long term volunteers, we had a full house.

Gayle Zepeda’s home had flooring installed, trim was painted and the second coat of exterior paint was applied.

We hung drywall, taped and mudded all week on Ed Norton’s house.  We also worked on the stair stringers and began plans for the porches.

John O’Neal’s house was sided, windows were installed and the electrical and plumbing were completed.  The weather allowed some painting on the exterior also.

Sylver Anderson’s home site was accessible the last part of the week and we were able to caulk the siding and work on the electrical there.

Thursday evening we had Rose Bell, the project manager from M-ROC (the long term recovery committee of Mendocino County) as our guest speaker.  She gave us much information about the fire, and the recovery process in the Redwood Valley where we are building our homes.  Our volunteers greatly appreciated her information and her passion for our homeowners.
