Ukiah, CA – Weekly Report – Feb 10-14, 2020

February 21, 2020

Another week of sunny weather added to the joy of the volunteers as they continued work on the clients’ houses in Redwood Valley, CA.

Anne, Mitch’s spouse, arrived on Saturday to bring our long-term number to seven. With six volunteers staying for a second week; the arrival of two couples and three men from British Columbia and one from Alberta, our total number of volunteers was twenty-one.

At Gayle Zepeda’s house the installation of the countertop, touch up of the paint, electrical work, and interior finishing brought the house closer to the day when Gayle can call it home.  On Friday she delivered Valentine cookies and chocolate for those who were working there.

Ed Norton’s house was the one awaiting attention this week. Friday the outdoor trim was painted, and the posts wrapped with Hardi-trim.

John O’Neal’s house saw a transformation as the painting was completed, the electrical panel upgraded, and a good start was made on the redwood deck and stairs

At Sylver Anderson’s house the concrete pads for the both stairs were poured and the stair stringers cut. Inside the house received a second coat of drywall mud.

On Tuesdays we move our dinner to the youth room, while AWANA takes place in the fellowship hall. This week we were blessed to share potluck with Jesse and Dolly and their congregation at the Presbyterian Church. It was a contact made by our volunteers when they attended a high school soccer game.

Blessings from Ukiah California
