In the afternoon, we did more set up, including installing a ceiling fan in the living room and moving the hanging lamp from the middle of the living room to above the dining room table. John installed hooks. I cooked. It’s finally beginning to feel like we have a space from out of which we can operate, here in Ponce.

We spent the morning working on financials, entering receipts, and figuring out a system. Heidi does an excellent job at explaining the process, and the whole system feels clear and straightforward.

Len and Carrie Blauwkamp — World Renew (their position is parallel to Larry Stoner’s), came for breakfast. It was good to touch base with another organization and to learn from their experience. We checked in with Rolando about a few logistics; the tool trailer should arrive on Friday and the pick-up truck will be towed here. The office trailer should arrive on Saturday.

At Rolando’s, we visited about work and plans for a while, and reviewed the volunteer spreadsheet. He said he has a group for us at the end of May, if we’re ready. I said yes, and that we’d like to line up volunteers a month in advance, if possible, so that we (and they) could prepare accordingly.

Today, we worked on paperwork and re-mounted the router so that it has better reception in the back rooms now.
