Pollocksville, NC – Weekly Report – Oct 14-18, 2019

November 1, 2019

We welcomed our first 4 ST volunteer’s this week from Pa. Three of them were repeats from last year in Conway, SC. Matt’s crew worked in the Pollocksvile Baptist Parsonage, where our camp will move to when it is finished. They installed insulation and passed the inspection. Then they worked on drywalling. Their side attraction was the puppies that would show up at lunch time. Two gals ended up taking a puppy home.

Phil’s crew of two worked on Ms Mamie’s house doing a variety of different things getting it ready to move back in.

Our neighbor here at the camp brought us some sweet potatoes on the weekend and then returned on Tuesday with a huge garbage bag of peanuts, fresh from the field. We laid them out on tables in the rec. room to dry. The cooks and I picked them off the stalks. So now, they are drying until we decide to roast them. We decided it was a different experience, but we wouldn’t want to do it very often.

We’re enjoying cooler weather in the Forties and praising God for another safe week.
