Pollocksville, NC – Weekly Report – Nov 11-15, 2019

November 18, 2019

We welcomed Jon and Jenny Stucky on Sat. Jon as a much needed, crew leader, and Jenny is keeping the camp cleaned and helping wherever help is needed. She had a shopping trip for curtain rods etc. She has ordered curtains for the parsonage.

It was nice to work with Joe Barba, coordinator of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE and his crew of 10, again. Also, Doug from WV stayed over for a second week. These folks worked hard and had a fun time together.

The Parsonage received more flooring and trim work. The accessories were added in the 3 bathrooms.

At Thigpens the dry wall was finished. The Thigpens are working right beside the volunteers and often bring pumpkin bread and one day vegetable soup for the fellows.

Ms. Berdena house has the shower installed, floor leveling compound applied, more drywall was repaired, and the list goes on.

Ms Mattie’s house had some additional work done there trying to bring her closer to move in day.

Monday evening Scott Murphy, chairman of the Long Term Recovery committee and his wife joined us for dinner. He is also the manager for Woodmen of the World camp, our temporary home.

Bill Peters join us Thursday as a crew leader.

Thanks, Evelyn Turner for keeping us well fed these past weeks. God’s blessings as you go.
