Myrtle Beach, SC RV – Weekly Report – Jan 21-25, 2019
January 29, 2019
Our work continued at Patrice’s home, despite the cold temperatures. Time was spent on inside work as it was too cold to continue on the siding. Todd, Bonnie, Lina, Darlene and Millie worked on drywall installation, taping and coating the drywall, and sanding. On Wednesday and Thursday, they began painting primer on ceilings and walls. Al continued to work on electrical issues, and Lynn and Ed worked at re-installing the free-standing fireplace. Fred is busy picking up supplies and keeping one step ahead of our energetic crew! It is amazing what has been accomplished in three weeks. Pray for the homeowner, Patrice – she fell and broke her wrist this past week, which required surgery on Friday.
On Thursday, we enjoyed a visit from Phil and Loretta Helmuth from the Lititz office. We ate lunch and visited together at the job site. It is very encouraging to have the on-site support of the MDS staff.
Saturday, a number of us went to “Old Smokehouse Day” at the L.W. Paul Farm, which is a part of the Horry County museum system. There were a number of exhibitors – spinning wool, making lye soap, grinding sausage, shelling ear corn, etc. For some of us, it brought back memories of our childhood; for the rest, it was a learning experience! It was a good day of visiting and spending time together.
