MDS Update – October 5, 2017

October 5, 2017

Lititz, Pa. — In this edition of the MDS Update we ask for prayers for our team evaluating the impact of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. We also give you the latest weekly and leadership opportunities and we hear from the executive director in the Director’s Blueprint. All this and more in this edition of the MDS Update.

Director’s Blueprint

I write this as I am preparing to travel to Puerto Rico this week to join up with our assessment team on the ground there. As you have seen and heard – the needs are massive. While we all are focused on responding to the urgent needs of the hurricane survivors of Harvey, Irma and Maria – let’s not forget the families in the communities where we made a commitment to rebuild – such as California, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Dakota, and West Virgina. Won’t you join us there? Call 800-241-8111 or register online. Learn more about our current projects.

Kevin King,
Executive Director

Prayer Concerns

Please pray for Executive Director Kevin King, Regional Operations Coordinator Larry Stoner and the MDS Puerto Rico Unit as they work together to evaluate the impact of Maria on the island and assess how MDS should respond. The team will need to address challenges in the areas of communication, travel & available resources. Continue to remember those impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the MDS volunteer teams responding in the area of Bloomington and Aransas Pass, Tex. Also keep in prayer the volunteers in Florida doing clean-up work after Hurricane Irma. Remember in prayer all the continuing projects MDS has ongoing that were started before this current hurricane season.
