The “Erskine” Fire of June 2016 devastated communities near the Lake in Kern County California northeast of Bakersfield. While charred hills and valleys are still visible, Mennonite Disaster Service is responding to help rebuild this community with its view of the Lake, Mountains and the Sierra Nevada’s.

The California Unit and Region 4 would like to announce that the Lake Isabella project will begin building the first of two homes on Monday, October 15th 2018.
Church’s who are seeking a ministry to help others are welcome to come as a group of 8 or less. Individuals may join others and meet new friends working with your hands to bring hope to those in need. If you have served with Mennonite Disaster Service on projects before and you have available time to reconnect with us please call and enquire.
Each week the project will need
- A MDS Project Director
- One Cook
- Eight volunteers
This project will also take one day volunteers on a few Saturdays.
