Lake County – Weekly Update – January 12, 2018
January 22, 2018
This week we had twelve week-long volunteers from Washington state. Only two of those volunteers were first-time volunteers with MDS. The Washington State unit has been sending teams of volunteers to MDS work sites for many years. They arrived ready to work, with all the appropriate gear, including boots and rain gear. Since it is the rainy season in Clearlake, we put their gear to good use on several of the days. But being from western Washington state they are accustomed to the rainy weather. They worked in the rain without complaint and got a lot accomplished. Mud was really an issue.
At the Rogelio Guzman home, the exterior siding was completed. Under floor, insulation was installed at the Robert Wessel home, and at Rich Egger’s under floor insulation was installed despite a muddy crawl space and drywall installation was started.
Many thanks to our Washington State volunteers. They were hard working, good company and had fun playing games together.
