Conway, SC – Weekly Report – May 27-31, 2019

June 5, 2019

We welcomed a group of ten women from Wisconsin to join our group of hard workers here in Conway. It seemed like we did mostly mudding this week, but when we started looking at each home, much more was done.

Daniel and Tanja Edmonds were very happy to see how nice their kitchen looked with the installation of the final cabinets and the countertops.  We also finished up the bathroom floor, installed the vanity and trim, and finished caulking.

Work continues at Denise McCray’s home.  We worked at completing the textured ceiling, working hard to match what wasn’t damaged by the flooding.  We taped and mudded drywall, installed the shower stall, and installed the tub surround in the second bath.  We installed a new front door.  Then we began the sanding of the drywall.  Next week we are looking forward to priming and painting.

At Betty Alston’s home, we painted walls and trim, removed and replace doors, insulated under the house and installed vapor barrier.  We also continued work on the baseboards.

It was a busy week and lots was accomplished.  We are grateful for all of our volunteers who come to Conway, SC to help our families.  This weekend we said goodbye to Jesse, Raven, Christa, Steve and Madi.  Next week we will host another group of both short and long term volunteers.  Blessings as everyone travels home.
