Coastal Bend, TX RV – Weekly Report – Jan 7-11, 2019
January 11, 2019
This report comes from Coastal Bend RV. There are six couples coming from Manitoba and Alberta, Canada; New York, Ohio, Indiana and Kansas.
Our work this week consisted of painting doors and boards for closet shelves, replacing flooring that had earlier been picked up due to water on the floor, putting up trim and hanging doors, installing the kitchen cabinets and installing the counter top. Half of the group moved on to the second house and began putting up insulation, adjusting some wall studs to accommodate smaller doors.
The group seems to be bonding quite well as we work together as a new team. We met up with a camper in our campground who was also doing volunteer work and is very interested in the work of MDS.
The homeowner of the first house will always be remembered as the “constant talker.”
Our plans for next week include continuing with putting on baseboards, trim and doors at the first house, while half of the group will move on to hanging drywall, spackling, sanding, painting baseboards, trim and doors in the second house.
