Citrus County, Florida, RV Weekly Report, Oct 29-Nov 2, 2018

This week we were again reminded of God’s protection as there were 4 tornadoes within some 20 miles of us.  Here at the park we only had a thunder storm with hard rain and wind for a couple of minutes.  The damage in the areas of the storms was not severe unless you were one of the ones that had the damage.  There were many without power for a day because of downed lines.  Also the toll on the trees was very extensive.  Thankfully there were only minor injuries and not too many of them.

Our work week went very well with the willing hands that we have in our small group.  The six of us from Illinois, Canada, and Kansas completed another home and had a nice dedication service on Thursday after work.  The homeowner and her children all attended as well as her father who has purchased the home for her.  It was great to spend some time with them and get to know them better.  She stated that she so appreciated everything that had been done for her especially since she was told at first that it probably would not happen.  Then she said she got the call that the materials would be furnished and then the next thing she knew there were “volunteers as well as supplies. God is so good.”

We completed the new flooring for the entire house and finished the painting and trim making the home secure and safe for the family.

On Saturday, Linda and Ken Peddie arrived from Canada to stay for a month. We will begin a new house that needs the entire interior renovated.  At the time of Hurricane Irma it had approximately 16 inches of water throughout the home.  The couple is living in the home but will move out while we do the work.  Many of the floors have caved in and nearly all of the walls will be replaced at least 3 feet up.  We have been given another challenge but with help from God and our team it will be completed.
