Citrus County, Florida, RV Weekly Report, Oct 22-26, 2018
October 30, 2018
What a difference 2 more hands can make. The team of 6 (one couple from Illinois, one from Kansas, and one from Canada) did an amazing amount of work this week. We continue to work on the home of Tomeka McKinnom. Jim finished the countertops. He and Bob then prepared the floors for the new flooring and the guys got the flooring done in the master bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, and kitchen. Bob and Norm repaired and replaced damaged walls and trim. The gals continued to prime and paint completing the master bedroom, bathroom, and back bedroom. When we finished the work week, the house looked full of promise. We had had a big surprise on Wednesday morning when we got to work. The homeowner’s father had gathered his grandchildren and had them help him clean all of the debris from around the home and also remove all of the bad furniture from the home. They must have worked very hard as it made it so much easier to get around not having to walk around large pieces of furniture moving them from side to side as we worked.
Next week we expect to finish the work on this home. That will include finishing the painting in the guest bedroom and the second bathroom. It will also include laying the new flooring in the guest bedroom, bathroom and living room. The gals will paint all of the baseboards so that the guys can install all of it. Hopefully by Thursday we can have a dedication service and leave knowing that Tomeka and family have a safe and secure home.
On Thursday evening we held our weekly potluck and then enjoyed playing games. We praise God for a group that truly is working as a team.
