Bennettsville, SC – Weekly Report – Mar 2-6, 2020

April 1, 2020

Greetings from Bennettsville, South Carolina.  Our volunteers this week consisted of 8 young men from Ohio and 6 gentlemen from Pennsylvania.  a very enthusiastic group and excited to go to the projects.

We are very fortunate to have two very knowledgeable crew leaders, Jan and Dwight.  Jan’s crew was busy putting in kitchen cabinets counter tops, installing flooring, baseboard, closet doors, windows, ceiling repairs, painting, and many more odd jobs.  Dwight’s crew worked at building a deck, a ramp, drywall, cabinets, baseboard, put tarp on a roof, ceiling repairs, painting, and finished some other repairs.

On Thursday evening we were privileged to have Mr. Steve, construction Coordinator, United Methodist Church, our local partner here in Bennettsville.  He joined us for dinner.  We very much enjoyed hearing him tell us about Hurricane Florence and about his work here in the area.

A huge thank you to our amazing cooks, Millie and Walt from Pennsylvania and also a very ambitious young lady,Chloe, from Bluffton University who is working along side the cooks for two weeks.

We continue to pray for Judy, office manager, who was called to go back to Manitoba to be with family, with some family health issues.

Also a thank you to Gary who so kindly stepped in for a few days as office manager.

A sincere thank you to all our volunteers and staff for a good and safe week!
