The New Iberia MDS is now the home of the RV group. It was a busy place over the weekend. The short-term camp was dismantled and equipment moved out as the campers and motor homes waited in line for a space to park.
We have a big task ahead of us to finish all three houses before the last of the nine couples leave at the end of the month. All three houses are in the same stage of building. Kitchen counters need to be custom fit, trim and painting, flooring is started, lights and fans to be installed, plumbing finished in kitchen and bath’s. There are lots of small odds and ends to finish up. We have taken the homeowners shopping to pick things out for their new homes. They are so excited they can’t make up their mind!
God has provided the talents of our workers and their caring hearts to finish the task.
MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
