Pass Christian directors, Glenn and Esther Buck, assisted by Construction foreman Ryan Sprunger, re-opened July 6, 2009 to welcome the youth group from the Pequea Brethren in Christ congregation in Lancaster County. We also welcomed Pastor Bob and Susan Yoder from Day Spring Mennonite Church, Virginia.
The group finished sanding the sheet rock and began painting the home of Mrs. H. By the week’s end they had painted the house and laid most of the laminate flooring as well as most of the ceramic tile. A second coat of paint was added to the underside of the house.
Mrs. C’s house began the week with the rough-in being finished. By week’s end the crews had insulated the floor and installed the sheeting which they later painted. Upstairs the sheetrock was hung and the laminate flooring and ceramic tiles purchased for installation later.
Mr. P’s house has much of the sheetrock hung and the insulation for the floor installed along with the sheeting. The sheeting has been painted. We are ready to finish hanging the sheetrock and begin mudding.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
