The 2009 MDS RV group began their work on 1/5/09. The first week was spent doing finishing touches on Ms Linda's home, hanging some doors in another home and sanding, staining and applying poly to some new kitchen cabinets for yet another home. Materials were purchased for a roof repair and a small deck construction that is scheduled to be done this coming week.
We are five couples from the US and one couple from Canada. Our RV village is set up and we are enjoying our daily devotions, working together and socializing together.
MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
