Week nine of the Deweyville project resulted in a number of advances. The cabinets have been assembled by Marilyn, Pat and Don and are ready for installation. The insulation under the house is well underway by Vern, Walt and Judy. John and Linda finished their assignment in Marble Falls and on their way home stopped and spent over a week helping us to sheet rock the entire house. Our Project Director, Art, continue to live up to the title bestowed on him by the team- “materials runner”.
We have added a new couple to our team for March. Howard and Barb Quast from Ohio have joined and "hit the ground running".
A highlight of the week was a visit by the Director of Field Operations, Jerry Grosh, from Akron, PA. Some of the team members worked on Friday and Saturday of week nine to assure completion of the house by the end of the month.
MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
