We are at the end of the fourth week or one month. We had two crews this week. One crew finishing installing cabinets and a door at Ms. Emma's home and the other crew continued to work at Mr Jerry's home. The ladies painted the first coat on the trim and siding for the home. The men were busy roofing, plumbing installing windows and starting to apply the siding and trim. It is taking shape and the homeowners are amazed how it is all coming together. They are excited to have a home. They have been without a home since Hurricane Katrina.
Two volunteer couples left on Friday after one month. Three couples will be coming this weekend for the month of February. It is like saying goodbye to part of your family and looking forward to adding to your family. As the song goes: "I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God'.
We are continuing to getting to know people in the area by attending different churches and activities of the churches.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
