This week we welcomed one short-term volunteer, Richard from Ontario, Canada, who is staying for two weeks. Richard worked closely with the long-term volunteers to do the following for our clients:
Ms. Agnes had her roof vent repaired to prevent future leaking in the roof and walls. She also had her A/C units installed.
Ms. Juanita had her closets trimmed, her walls cleaned and painted, her baseboard finished, and her exterior soffit and wall painted. The volunteers also performed some repairs around an electrical entrance, caulking, painting, more painting, trim work, as well as some minor repairs and finish work. Then the volunteers did some more painting on the exterior of the house and the trim, and installed the closet shelves.
Ms. Marie G. had the finishing touches put on her bathrooms.
Blessings from Jim and Marie, Lem and Alta, Peter, Walter, Graham, Karen, and Wendy.
MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
