In our first two weeks since re-opening the Dulzura project we have completed the mudding, texturing and painting the interior trim at Edith and Hector’s house and Jon’s house.
Drywall hanging and taping of Joe’s house is finished and mudding and sanding has been started.
Job cards for two new homes have been signed. The foundation work on the K home has been started.
We have learned to know and appreciate our long-term staff: Evie, Hank, Viola, Nicole, Tina, Rudy and Lois. Short-term work groups have worked hard.
Relationships have been formed with the families we are helping as well as with most of our suppliers, sub-contractors and the local recovery team [CRT].
We are all learning to love these desert mountains, hills and canyons and the unique creation God has made for us to enjoy and respect with awe.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
