Responding Rebuilding Restoring

Weekly Report for Pass Christian

October 9, 2009
Category: Pass Christian, MS

Last week was a very hot and humid week. We have nine long-term people at the project now. One is from New York, one from Pennsylvania, two are from Ohio and five are from Canada. Of these nine people, two are first time MDS'ers.

The group got all the cementing completed in between the rains. They also laid all the block for the pillars. We are all ready to put up the house that was built in Columbus, Ohio in July at the MC USA Conference. This is the first time any of our group has done this type of home.

Volunteer

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.

Donate

Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
