This week three volunteers and a crew leader dug, built footer forms and poured cement for a new house for the A family.
On another new start for the K family, we finished building the stem wall, poured the wall and stripped the forms. Then we cleaned up the site. Framing materials were delivered on Friday in preparation for framing.
The mudding, sanding and texturing was finished for the Z place, which is as far as MDS is taking that place.
The finished flooring was put in on Edith and Hector’s house which is now ready for cabinets. As first-time, long-term volunteers, it was hard to say goodbye. It was a great experience that we’d like to be involved with again. We also had the privilege to visit the Ramona site on our way home.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
