The last three weeks of February we have been very busy painting, finishing, plumbing, etc. The cabinets have been finished and installed. All the doors have been hung and the floor covering installed. After a lot of hard work, great team effort and the faithful encouragement of Mr. Jerry, the house is complete.
The house dedication took place on Wednesday February 25. We were blessed to have Pastor Charles Foster, chairman of the Self Help Housing do the dedication and prayer. Also, Evelyn Peters-Rojas from the Winnipeg, Manitoba office was able to be here. It was fitting to sing "Reach Out and Touch Someone" - MDS reached out to Jerry and Rebekah, building them a new house and in turn they touched us by accepting our work, our presence and our fun and fellowship.
Thank you to the team members Frank and Irene Goertzen (project directors), Ivan and Twyla White, Darrel and Teena Horst, Dana and Betty Sark, Milo and Nancy Mast, O.J. and Mary Miller, Al and Doreen Petkau, George and Irene Voth, and Bruce and Martha Isaak.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
