Last week our short-term volunteers were from Iowa and Ohio. This week there are six long term volunteers here and no short term volunteers.
We had some excellent skills in our volunteers and much work was done last week. One rebuild was finished and this week we dedicated the house on March 17th. The homeowners were thrilled with their house.
Last weekend we took the long-term volunteers to see the Gulf. They were quite delighted to walk in the water and are planning to go back on Saturday. We also went to the Shangri-La Gardens in Orange, Texas. It is quite an impressive place. The weather was in the 80's that day so it was great for our outing.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
