Responding Rebuilding Restoring

Divide, CO Youth Project

Project Description

MDS will be partnering with Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp to provide needed services of labor for clearing brush and trees away from buildings and homes in an effort to prevent damage should forest fires occur this summer and fall. Volunteers will also be assisting with some small repair jobs as available

Location and Accommodations

Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp is situated on the west side of Pikes Peak. It is approximately 30 miles west of Colorado Springs. The camp is completely surrounded by Pike National Forest.

Pike Ridge is a rustic setting with a beautiful overlook of the Pikes Peak Mountain range. A small lodge provides space for gathering. Park Ridge has five cabins which can accommodate about 30 people. Bathroom facilities on Park Ridge consist of outdoor privy’s (non-flushable toilets). Bathhouse facilities, including flushable toilets and hot showers, are available to all volunteers within a 10-15 walk. Meals will be served at the main dining facilities on the campus.
