Disaster Description:

The remnants of  Hurrcane Ivan dumped 9 inches of rain on Pittsburgh within a 48 hour period. Debris in the creeks and streams, clogged the waterways and prevented drainage causing them to overflow their banks. In some residential areas a 9 foot wall of water swept through, causing major damage.
