July, 2003  - Hurricane Claudette

Claudette slammed into central Texas, killing two people. Sustained winds reached 90 mph, just short of a catagory 2 hurricane, with gusts as high as 104. Storm surge brought flooding as far away as Galveston. Most areas were still recovering from the previous summer's flooding which affected 41 counties.

Due to many volunteers in January the project was able to reach its goal of closing out the project.  Vehicles, tools and supplies have been moved.  We thank all of those that helped here in the few months this project was up and running.
