
Disaster Description
Hurricane Katrina, August 2005 brought both wind and water damage to the Mobile area. MDS volunteers continue to repair and rebuild housing in Mobile and surrounding communities, working with the Way of Life Community Church and long term recovery organization Volunteer Mobile in this effort. The project site is located on a property next to Way of Life Community Church in Mobile.
MDS Response
The work done by volunteers this winter had a great impact on the community. The volunteers were able to complete numerous repair jobs to wrap up our project in Mobile at the end of March.
This week we had two Canadian college groups come to Mobile. One came from Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the other came from Conrad Grebel College in Waterloo, Ontario. We also had a man come from...
