The RV Program began in October 2006 in Chunchula, Alabama, near Mobile on October 2, 2006. The site accommodated six RV spots. The first activity of the project was rebuilding a house and the second was a new build.

RV Program Description
The MDS RV Program (RVP), based in Chunchula Alabama, is a special program developed by MDS for retired, semi-retired couples and singles who own or have access to a self-contained recreational vehicle (RV). The RVP will be operated as an independent MDS project.
Volunteers will be couples and individuals who will travel to a binational disaster site to live in their own personal recreational vehicles to volunteer their time in rebuilding, repairing or building new homes. RVP volunteers will commit to work for a specific time with a minimum of four weeks.
In exchange for volunteer work, they will receive RV parking at no expense, with full hookups including a minimum of thirty AMP electrical services, a water hookup and a means of black and gray water disposal.
