Is your church ready for a disaster? "Beyond our Fears" is a curriculim that can help your church get ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus during an emergency.

A New Pandemic Resource for Churches and Small Groups!

The new resource, “Beyond our Fears: Following Jesus in Times of Crisis” is a curriculum from MDS, MC Canada and Mennonite Publishing Network that can help your church get ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus during an emergency. The curriculum includes:

  • Leaders Guide which includes ideas and instructions on leading the four lessons (Faith Overcomes Fear, Compassion Overcomes Blame, Service Overcomes Self-Preservation, and Living in Hope Overcomes Darkness). There is a separate section for adults, youth, and children. Worship service outlines, prayers, and resources are also included. ($13 U.S./$15Cdn)
  •  Participant booklet of stories and Scripture reflections ($6 U.S./$7Cdn)
  • A children’s book "Don’t Be Afraid: Stories of Christians in Times of Trouble" for ages 9-12. ($6 U.S./$7Cdn)

These lessons can assist your congregation or group to be prepared.

“Being prepared for times of crisis is both a ministry and a mission of the church. I encourage you to order Beyond Our Fears for your congregation so you can be ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus during an emergency.”

Kevin King, Executive Director, MDS

Volunteer

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.

Donate

Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
