Youth are the future of MDS
Youth groups have been a part of MDS for many years. The summer youth program is an opportunity for youth to see their actions impact the lives of others through the Anabaptist tradition of volunteering.
During the summer months, MDS runs a youth program to accommodate church groups. Space is limited and you need to begin planning early to increase the likelihood that MDS can host your group.
Youth groups that prepare for service before they arrive at the MDS project location will have a better experience.
MDS volunteers come from a network of supportive Anabaptist churches. If your group would like to volunteer and you are in agreement with MDS volunteer expectations, we welcome you to contact the Binational MDS office in Akron, Pennsylvania or the extension office in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Share Your Stories
MDS would like to include your stories, journals and pictures with others through our website. Click on the link below to e-mail stories about your time serving with MDS or photos of you and your group working at the project. All submissions will be used and edited at the discretion of MDS staff.
MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
