One month or more with MDS
Long-term volunteers are adults over the age of 19, committed to a Christian community and willing to assist with trade skills, provide project leadership, assist with cooking and/or provide office management.
The majority of MDS volunteers spend an average of one week on a project site. The success of this short-term program relies on the long-term volunteers who provide leadership at the project site.
Long-term volunteers play the critical role of connecting short-term volunteers with clients. Long-term volunteers who serve for one month or longer build trust in the community as they meet clients, partner with other organizations and make regular trips to the lumberyard and grocery store.
Leadership, administrative and hosting positions are 1+ month terms. Whether you are a crew leader, a cook or a project director, you must fill out an application to become a long-term volunteer.

MDS volunteers are known for repairing and rebuilding homes damaged by disasters. But it takes more than construction skills to serve with MDS. During the time that you serve as a volunteer, you will learn that MDS also restores lives.
Donate
Your contribution will help to connect volunteers with disaster survivors who need assistance on their path to recovery. MDS depends on the support of people who believe that disaster response is an important part of helping those who are in need.
